The Mike Bamford Foundation was created to honor Mike’s passion for life and his heroic efforts in the fight against three terminal illnesses. Together our family took up the fight to see Mike survive; inspired by his deep well of hope and belief he would win over cancer. We have been forever impacted by the lengthy fight Mike courageously fought, his passing, and now the re-building of our lives.
An important aspect of our mission to go on came from the decision to turn our attention to families just like us; fighting their own fight with grief and the rebuilding of their lives. I remember thinking that nothing was possible and what could we offer to others when we were so broken ourselves. I didn’t know that in the depths of our pain, a gift was waiting to be given. This gift was for others, but it was a gift to us as well. An unexpected and beautiful one.
Are you the family of a terminally ill child at Children’s Hospital Colorado?
Our daughter, Natalie, made us fingerprint pendants early on in our trek with cancer. We did not realize the importance or impact they would have on our lives. We wanted others to have what we had. The M-Prints Pendant Program was borne from this desire. It is a program that funds the making of fine silver pendants like our own.
We have made them available to families of terminally ill children at Children’s Hospital Colorado – Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.
Our pendants feature the child’s fingerprint pressed in fine silver to produce a beautiful impression that will be treasured for a lifetime.
The pain of losing Mike, and wanting something good to come from it, turned into our mission to help those who grieve.
Thank you for your support and encouragement.
We are grateful for all the love and support given to us by people like you.
